A hand-carved stone guardian lion with an open mouth, curled mane and beautifully weathered blue-gray surface. Its aged patina gives the piece the feeling of an object that has already lived a life.

Guardian lions have long stood near gates, temples and homes as symbols of protection, courage and watchful strength—keeping the threshold between the outside world and what is held sacred within.

Its exact origin, age and stone type are unknown. The surface wear, mottling and natural variations have been preserved as part of its history and character.
